TANGO Under the Tent
DATE: The 1st, 2nd & 4th Saturday of Every Month
TIME: 7:00 PM - 11:00 PM
LOCATION: Seligmann Homestead Art Studio
23 White Oak Drive, Sugar Loaf, NY 10918
One of Tango's best kept secrets. The site was previously the home and studio of surrealist artist Kurt Seligmann and features a dance floor framed by cathedral ceilings that look out onto the lush New York countryside. The sunsets are not to be missed.
Under the Tent promotes all tango forums for those looking to either learn the dance or just attend a Milonga. Different guest instructors appear each week.
Beginners are always invited and multiple senior dancers are always on hand to get a new dancer onto the floor. Donations are accepted from anyone who attends and several private sources have offered funding for the cultural promotion of Argentine dance.
The group puts all of its donations into a kitty which it then uses to bring in tango maestros so that participants can be exposed to the best for very small costs.
